I live in a haunted house

Whispers come from

the broken tiles and windows

that I fail to replace

Doorknobs felt the touch of my different lives

I rearranged my room many times

to avoid feeling the same

I still live with the same people

We are haunted by old memories

old arguments and fights

There were relatives that came over

then never came back

I still think of them

I am reminded by the smell

In my room I light a candle

I pray to God to keep us safe

from this neighborhood

I am haunted by the thoughts of

never being able to leave

I am a different person now, and I can’t resonate

Please God get me out of this haunted place
